DJ Mia Moretti, has been absorbed by music her entire life. Growing up outside of San Francisco in Berkeley, California, Mia was accustomed to spending her days and nights in her family's music room, her mom on the piano, her dad on the guitar and a bevy of friends on drums, kalamazoos, tambourines, maracas and whatever else was in arm's reach. However, it wasn't until she was 18 and got a taste of the Los Angeles nightlife scene that she realized two turntables and a mixer were the most valuable instrument she would lay her hands on. Mia was then introduced to "the art of djing" by DJ AM and since then has become one of the first successful female djs to bring "electro" to the forefront of a constantly evolving commercial music scene. With residencies from LA to NYC, Moretti has deejayed alongside music sensations Debbie Harry (Blondie), Santigold, Katy Perry, Passion Pit, The Virgins, MGMT and has performed for numerous celebrity guests from Oprah Winfrey to Lady Gaga. Branching out into music production, Mia's remix of the hit single "Hot N Cold" (Katy Perry) landed on the Billboard Dance Music Charts for 10 weeks straight. Currently, her remix of "Peacock" (Katy Perry) can be found on the Itunes Deluxe Version of Perry's latest album "Teenage Dream." Mia's live performances with electric violnist Caitlin Moe caught the attention of fashion brand "Alice+Olivia" who featured them in their Spring 2011 video lookbook, as well as Chelsea Clinton, who hired the duo to play her wedding. The duo have played Perez Hilton's artist showcases, "One Night In Austin" and "One Night in Toronto." Moretti is the music director for San Francisco based designers ROSENMUNNS and the popular New York based line WALTER.
